Queen of Pentacles Reversed Tarot Meaning

“Relax; the blossoms will still open whether you worry about them or not.”

Queen of Pentacles (Reversed) | Tarot Card

If the Queen of Pentacles appears reversed, her jittery rabbit appears at the top of the card.

The rabbit calls your attention to unsubstantiated anxiety about the future, which may be clouding your perspective of reality. The rabbit is a worrier. He frets about being late, danger, pitfalls, traps, and potential enemies. All the while he is unable to feel at peace in the present moment. The rabbit mistakenly thinks that if he braces for every potential fear, he will be “ready” for them when they arrive. In actuality, the constant worry leads to unnecessary suffering and tension.

Are you constantly striving for more, thinking that happiness will come once you achieve a certain goal?

Do you push yourself too hard and not allow yourself to enjoy the fruits of your labor? Do you tell yourself, “I’ll be happy once I finally achieve X, or get Y.”? Do you race through time not acknowledging even small achievements you make? Are you sometimes a cruel task master to yourself? (You don’t get to enjoy anything until you finish this!)

The Queen of Pentacles reminds you to ground yourself in the abundance of the present. Acknowledge the warmth of your home, the good meal you are eating, your time with loved ones, the beauty of the raindrops misting outside. Look at life with content eyes. Look at all this beauty!

In the foreground of the card (in the right- hand corner) is the Queen’s pet rabbit. Rabbits are symbols of fertility (hence the Easter Bunny and the budding of Spring). They were also believed to bring good luck. (Remember those ghastly carnival rabbit’s feet in the 1980’s?)

An old teacher of mine used to say, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” If you are preparing the way for future success, all you need to do is look out for the opportunity, then move toward it as swiftly as the rabbit when it arises. Rabbits are also symbolic of nervous energy. This reminds us that we must still act toward our dreams even if we are afraid.

The Queen of Pentacles’ garden is growing in perfect timing but requires loving patience and a peaceful environment; mentally and physically.

The Queen’s garden is growing in perfect timing but requires a peaceful environment (mentally and physically). Excessive anxiety wastes personal power and quickly depletes energy. Today, emulate the wise and patient upright Queen. Find your center. Send calm, loving energy to the nervous rabbit within. The blossoms will still open, whether you worry about them or not.

If the Queen of Pentacles reversed represents another person, she may represent someone that periodically struggles with anxiety. Soothing places in nature can have an amazing effect on her. Upright or reversed, the Queen of Pentacles is prone to overwork. She also prefers stability, consistency and predictability. Try to use facts to assuage some of her fears. This will give her a reassuring sense of solidity.

  1. This was so helpful, and beautiful too. You really as are a skilled writer, and my favorite tarot resource. Thank you!

  2. Reading about the Queen of Pentacles reversed was so absolutely spot on as where I am at this moment in time. It’s the first time in many years that I’ve commented on a reading. Now I can honestly say it’s given me goosebumps because it’s tremendously accurate.

  3. Oh my gosh, this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! I’m moving into my first apartment alone and I’ve been so anxious about the whole process. Making sure I get cleaning supplies, making sure I buy a drawer organizer for the kitchen, making sure I get a trash can and a vacuum, etc etc etc. I know I’ll be fine but the Virgo in me is Virgo-ing lol. Thank you for this wonderful message!

  4. Ive been pulling this card on and off for a few months now. Now its reversed in my Outcome. I love the idea that the rabbit represents anxiety. Ive read through other websites on the reversed, and can truly say that the rabbit is the anxiety that runs in the female line of our family. My mother was notorious for her panic attacks. My daughters and I are working on ways to ground ourselves and not emulate our inheritance. Its beautifully useful to see the rabbit as that anxious dialogue in our heads. My mothers underlying miserly grasping nature, a response to poverty consciousness. I have been trying to spot the rabbit as it arises, and step back from rushing ahead, try to come out of the head and into the feelings. To trust the process. Its a invaluable tool you’ve sparked in me there. Thankyou
